Polk County Enterprise - June 2009
LIVINGSTON — During a brief Commissioner’s Court meeting Tuesday, the court approved buyboard purchase of a Volvo L70 front-end loader for Precinct 1 Road and Bridge with trade-in of an existing loader. The purchase price is not to exceed $110,000 which will be financed from the Pct. 1 budget and a six-year repayment plan. The court also approved extending letters of credit for Cedar Point developers. At the request of Pct. 4 Commissioner Tommy Overstreet, one item was removed from the consent agenda. Item H was to consider approval of agreements with volunteer fire departments for fire-fighting services in the unincorporated areas of the county. Overstreet suggested and Pct. 3 Commissioner Milt Purvis agreed that the item needed further discussion with all departments serving Polk County. During the public comment portion of Tuesday’s agenda architect Jean Hester of Hesters & Sanders, designers of the Polk County Judicial Center said the easement documents will be presented at the June 23 Commissioners Court session for review. The City of Livingston will consider them for review at the July meeting. City staff members have reviewed and suggested changes have been implemented.
