The Livingston Chapter of the San Jacinto High Rollers delivered the proceeds of a benefi t held on May 3. The Polk County Child Welfare Board accepted a check for $5,000 to assist local children in foster care. The Child Welfare Board has assembled backpacks for youngsters, containing basic clothing and grooming items since many of children only have the clothes they’re wearing when they enter foster care. SJHR recently completed construction on a Habitat for Humanity house and has made other contributions funded by this event to the board and Safe Harbor House in Coldspring.
Vice President Scott Nelson and members Tim Mosley, Sgt. at Arms Don Holse, Rodney Dove, Hank Keller, Treasurer Jesse Colburn, Road Captain Felton Atkinson, Rose Atkinson, Paul Valerez, Scott Atkinson and Rita Atkinson. Other members include Sandy Scott, Scott Spellman, Donna Dick, Adren Dobbs, Connie Poppleton, Trina Martin, Elmer May and DaWanda Nelson. Child Welfare Board members shown include: Chairman David Cunningham, Vice Chairman Karla Bruning, Vonda Broussard, Ann Zeigler, Leon Bailey, Anita Holse and CPS Supervisor Lou Liles. The San Jacinto High Rollers Motorcycle Club was founded in 1957 as a non-profi t organization to assist children in need and improve the image of motorcycling.
