TPWD search for missing swimmer ends Tuesday

GOODRICH — Texas Parks and Wildlife have ended a three-day search for the body of a man who disappeared while swimming near a boat ramp on the Trinity River near the Polk/San Jacinto County line Saturday. Capt. Shawn Phillips said the body of Angel Fuentes, 24, was found about 2 p.m. Family members called for help after they saw him go underwater while swimming Saturday afternoon. They saw his head emerge from the water briefly, but he went under again and disappeared, TPWD reports show. Texas EquuSearch and the Cleveland Fire Department joined search efforts Monday and TPWD boats using sidescan radar combed the river.
