Man indicted for murder of wife

LIVINGSTON — A Polk County Grand Jury indicted Del Ray Sanders on one count of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the death of his wife, Linnie Sanders on Feb. 16. Linnie Sanders was found dead in their home in Holiday Lake Estates with obvious blunt force trauma injuries. The indictment charges those injuries were allegedly inflicted by Del Ray Sanders. The death was investigated by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office with assistance of Texas Ranger Ron Duff, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab and the Del Ray Sanders is currently being held in the Polk County jail without bond. A neighbor called 911 after finding Mrs. Sanders dead in her residence Feb. 16. Investigators learned that Del Ray Sanders was at the residence at the time of his wife’s death. They attempted an interview, but officers described him as incoherent and took him to the hospital for medical treatment. Detectives interviewed Sanders the following morning and charged him with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. Bond was initially set at $100,000 but was later changed to no bond.
