Motorcycle crash sends man to Houston hospital

LIVINGSTON – A 28-year-old Livingston man was taken by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston following a motorcycle accident Sunday on Pritchard Road, 8.5 miles west of Livingston. Estis D. Williams was driving a 2005 Yamaha northbound when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck his head on the pavement, according to Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Darwon Evans. No charges have been filed in connection with the accident, which occurred at 6:15 p.m. Also investigated Sunday was a one-car accident at 11 a.m. on FM 3278, 5.8 miles west of Livingston. A 2006 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 16-year-old from Livingston was eastbound when it hydroplaned on the wet road, spun and struck a guardrail, according to Trooper Robert Akers. The driver, listed with non-incapacitating injuries, was taken by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center – Livingston.
