Polk County Enterprise
LIVINGSTON — Polk County Commissioners will consider approval of a request from the sheriff’s office to apply for a tobacco compliance grant from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts during a meeting set for 10 a.m. Tuesday. The grant funds must be used for inspections of retail outlets, decoy operations and education for retailers, judicial and court personnel. The court also plans to consider designating an additional project for the off-system bridge replacement program. The consent agenda for Tuesday’s meeting also includes: • County Treasurer’s second quarter report on investments. • Approve agreement with Net Star for DSL services at the sheriff’s office in Corrigan to be funded by Homeland Security (LEAP) grant proceeds. • Approve an interlocal agreement renewing services with Harris County for postmortem examinations. • Approve submittal of renewal application for property insurance covering through the Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool.
