Habitat breaks ground on House #15 in neighborhood on Bluebird
LIVINGSTON — Habitat for Humanity volunteers and some of the families whose lives have been forever changed by becoming owners of one of the 14 houses already completed in Polk County joined forces to break ground on the 15th house which will be built for the Wyatt family on Bluebird Street in Livingston. The impact that Habitat for Humanity of Polk County reaches beyond those families to the neighborhoods surrounding the new homes built by habitat volunteers. The pride felt by these families in their new homes is contagious, and it spreads to the surrounding area. Volunteers are needed for construction, which will take place most Saturdays through the fall. Homeowner Lanita Wyatt will be there with her three children as well as other Habitat homeowners working to meet the “sweat equity” requirements to purchase a Habitat home. |
