Young man dies from gunshot wounds

Rhett Lathan has died from gunshot wounds he sustained after apparently being invited by another Livingston High School student to a residence on Easy St., according to Lt. Craig Finegan of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The shooting occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Friday. Rachel Nicole Leggett has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting and was released on bond at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday after bond was set by Pct 1 JP Darrell Longino. Lt Finegan is currently preparing additional charges and he believes those will be filed Sunday.
