LIVINGSTON – A 38-year-old man was killed after being hit by an tractor-trailer on U.S. 59 in front of Polk’s Pick It Up in Corrigan at 4 a.m. Aug. 23. The driver told Corrigan Police Officer Roy Wade that he never saw the victim, Shane Eugene Felts. Felts’ identification listed a Houston address but had been recently been residing in Corrigan, according to preliminary reports from Corrigan police. The truck driver was northbound on U.S. 59 from Houston. The victim was initially taken to Memorial Medical Center-Livingston then transferred to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston by helicopter. Officials at the Houston hospital said the victim had died. The investigation is continuing. Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers report that a 17-year-old Livingston woman was injured in a one-car accident at 3:53 p.m. Saturday on Deer Trail Road at Kingfisher Road. A 1996 Ford Mustang driven by Breana Lynn Gasaway, 17, of Livingston was northbound on Kingfisher, turning left onto Deer Trail, when she lost control of the car due to unsafe speed, according to Trooper Kevin Burman. The car traveled off the west side of Deer Trail and struck a utility pole. Gasaway, listed with incapacitating injuries, was transported by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Livingston.
