LIVINGSTON — A woman who came to Livingston claiming she was escaping an abusive relationship is in the Polk County jail for second degree felony charges of sexual assault of a child after allegedly attempting to have sex with a 13-year-old boy Friday night. Livingston police were called to a local apartment complex by the victim’s mother. The mot he r t ol d De t . The suspect claimed she was in an abusive relationship and the Livingston resident offered a place to stay until she got things sorted out. Bohnert said the woman had been in Livingston about three weeks. On Friday night, the suspect allegedly got extremely intoxicated. The mother found her in the process of having sex with the 13-year-old son. LPD Sgt. Darrell Newman arrested Cooper and she remained in custody in lieu of $15,000 bond Tuesday. The victim was examined at Memorial Medical Center- Livingston and released.
