Tribal member killed in crash Monday morning
LIVINGSTON – A member of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 190 East at the reservation. The deceased, 68-year-old Cecil Lang Alec Sr., was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. He pulled out from a private driveway into the path of a westbound 2005 Dodge pickup truck driven by Ronnie Lynn Reynolds II, 41, of Oakhurst, according to Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Ramey Bass. The pickup truck, which was towing a utility trailer, struck the driver's side of Alec's car. The accident occurred at approximately 10:11 a.m. Alec was transported by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Livingston, where he was pronounced dead at 11:02 a.m. by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Steven McEntyre. Reynolds was listed as uninjured. No charges have been filed. Bass was assisted at the scene by Troopers Allen Stanton and Kevin Burman, DPS Sgt. Nita Bowen, Polk County Sheriff's Department officers and the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Police and Fire departments. Funeral services for Alec will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Indian Reservation Assembly of God Church.
