2 killed in Corrigan crash
CORRIGAN — The driver of a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, identified as Darrell Raabe, 51, of Jasper, and his wife, Rebecca Raabe, 56, died in a crash on U.S. Highway 287 East and Rayburn Drive at about 4:30 p.m., according to a statement released by Corrigan Police Department. The cause of the crash is under investigation, interim chief Darrel Gibson said Monday. Corrigan police received a 911 transfer call from the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 4:33 p.m. Sunday reporting a crash at U.S. Hwy. 287 East and Rayburn Drive. Officer Roy Wade arrived on scene to fine a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2008 Ford Edge had been involved in a crash. Mr. Raabe was taken to Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin by Americare EMS. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 5:37 p.m. Mrs. Raabe was transported by Americare EMS to Memorial Health System of East Texas, and pronounced dead at the hospital at 5:55 p.m. The driver of the Ford Edge, identified as Janasia McCloud, 19, of Corrigan, has not been charged at this time, the statement said. She and her two daughters, who were passengers in the vehicle, were not injured.
