Victim, suspect in Shepherd stabbing both juveniles

SHEPHERD — A male juvenile was stabbed during a fight outside Pirate Stadium where graduation ceremonies for Shepherd High School's Class of 2013 were being held Friday, June 7. A male suspect was taken into custody almost immediately. When contacted Tuesday, Shepherd ISD Police Chief Jeff Sparks said the suspect is also a juvenile. His identity had apparently been revealed in radio traffic between law enforcement officers at the time of the incident. A separate investigation into who disclosed the name of the juvenile is under way. Sparks said the victim has since been released from the hospital and has been able to give a statement about the incident. Capt. Tim Morgan with the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office told the San Jacinto News-Times that a verbal argument had started between the two juveniles and escalated into a physical altercation when one of the males pulled out a knife and stabbed the other male several times
