Five hurt in 18-wheeler collision
LIVINGSTON – Five people were transported to hospitals, two by medical helicopter, following the collision of a car and an 18-wheeler shortly after 2 p.m. Friday on U.S. 59, just south of the Livingston city limits. The truck, driven by 52-year-old Timothy Cwick of Houston, was southbound and attempted to make a wide right turn into a private drive, according to Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Chris Cain. As the truck was turning, a southbound Ford Taurus driven by Heather Bradford, 19, of Shepherd, attempted to pass to the right and struck the side of the 18-wheeler, the investigation showed. Two of the three passengers in Bradford's car -- an infant child and a 10-year-old -- were transported by helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Bradford, another passenger and Cwick were transported by ambulance to the Livingston hospital. The Highway Patrol indicated charges against Bradford are pending further investigation.
