Series of burglaries leads to 3 arrests
LIVINGSTON – The men were arrested and several hundred dollars in stolen property were recovered by the Polk County Sheriff's Department in connection with a series of burglary reported in the Union Springs area of Corrigan. Arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation are Thomas Glenn Dorris II, 18 of Corrigan, Taylor Wayne Whiddon, 17, of Corrigan, and Zachary Norman Simons, 18, of Cleveland. Over the past several weeks, sheriff's deputies have investigated at least six residential burglaries in the area with items listed as stolen including DVD's, fishing gear, PS3 and X-Box game machines, jewelry and money. With the assistance of citizens in the area, Deputy Dustin Lowery was able to develop information leading to possible suspects. Lowery passed this information to the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division. On the morning of January 2, detectives followed up on this information and were able to arrest three suspects and recover some of the stolen property. Detectives with the Polk County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the string of burglaries and expect to make more arrests.
