Leggett approves raise for auxiliary employees
Polk County Enterprise, July 2007
LEGGETT — Trustees for Leggett Independent School District approved a 4 percent salary increase for auxiliary personnel during its regular meeting June 21.
The board voted to hire four new teachers for the 2007-08 school year at Thursday’s meeting. Calendar changes for the 07-08 school year were approved, including making May 26 a school holiday rather than a bad weather make-up day. Board members approved student and employee handbooks as well as the purchase of a new 72-passenger school bus.
Leggett trustees tabled reviewing the proposed upgrades to the cafeteria walls until their July meeting.
There will be a special called Board of Trustees meeting at 7 p.m. Friday. The agenda includes rescinding the board’s vote on June 11 relating to filling the superintendent’s position. Trustees will then vote to name a lone finalist for superintendent.
