Rock to join rockets this 4th

LIVINGSTON – There will be rock along with the rockets this 4th of July as the Polk County Relay for Life gets a jump-start on their 2008 fund-raising with an Independence Day concert at Pedigo Park.
Presented by American Rock Legends, the concert will feature a rock and roll revue including the music of Elvis, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and The Blues Brothers, among others. The Waylon Evans Band and Randy Coward will also appear on stage.
Tickets will be available at the gate for $5 per person. Children 12 and under get in free, as do all military personnel with a military identification card.
The gate opens at 5 p.m. and the concert starts at 6 p.m.
Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Snack items and soft drinks will be sold by local Relay for Life teams. By city ordinance, no alcohol is allowed.
All proceeds from the event, sponsored by Double Creek Tree Farm, will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
