Oct. 6 deadline for address change, registration

LIVINGSTON – Voter registration for the coming Nov. 4 elections – including the Presidential election – continues until Oct. 6 and forms may be picked up at multiple locations around the county, including the courthouse, the tax office, subcourthouses, Texas Department of Public Safety and city halls. Voters who do not change their mailing address with the Tax- Assessor/Collector’s Office by Oct. 6 will have to vote in the same precinct as they did in the previous election. County Clerk Barbara Middleton has mailed ballots to military personnel registered to vote in the county and is also accepting applications for mail out ballots. The application form to have a ballot mailed to you may be downloaded at www.co.polk.tx.us. The first day of early voting is Oct. 20. Anyone registered to vote in Texas may cast their ballot in all general election races during early voting. For more information contact the Polk County Tax Assessor’s office at 936-327-6801.
