Leggett looking for superintendent, principal
Polk County Enterprise, May 2007
LEGGETT — Trustees at Leggett Independent School District hope to fill vacancies quickly in the superintendent and principal positions.
The board voted to accept the resignation of principal and interim superintendent Ryan Skelton effective June 30 during their regular meeting May 17.
Leggett staff members said trustees hope to begin interviewing possible successors as soon as possible.
Skelton has handled the day-to-day duties of the superintendent's office since Robert Kimball was placed on administrative leave for personal reasons Dec. 7, 2006.
Merit pay for 7th to 12 grade teachers who reached target percentages of students passing the TAKS test was also discussed May 17. The bonus pay is funded by the Texas Educator Grant and specific staff members who qualify will be identified at the next meeting.
The district received a Gold Performance Acknowledgment for the 2005-06 school year for earning a recommended rating at the high school campus.
