Community Band gazebo concerts begin
Polk County Enterprise, May 2007

LIVINGSTON -- The first Gazebo Concert of the 2007 season for the Livingston Area Community Band will be at 7 p.m. Monday, May 21 at the Livingston Courthouse Gazebo.
This will be the first of three concerts by the Band. The other two are scheduled for Monday, June 4 and Monday, June 18.
The Gazebo concerts will be followed with concerts at Memorial Point on Saturday, June 30 and Lakeside in Onalaska for the Polk County July 4th
celebration and fireworks.
The Band has prepared a variety of selections for their Gazebo performances, so you can attend all three concerts and hear only a few repeated selections.
The first concert will feature a march written for our band and titled, "The Livingston Community Band March."
This premier performance will be conducted by the composer Kelly Bennette, a graduate of Lamar University and former member of the Beaumont Symphony.
Also featured on the first concert is Dennis Athey, one of the band's charter members playing "Harlem Nocturne" on alto sax.
Three of our baritone players, Gerald Fagan, Richard Butler and Joey Acker will perform the exciting "Bugler's Holiday" by Leroy Anderson.
You may want to bring lawn chairs, cold drinks/snacks, dress casual and enjoy the music.
The Livingston Area Community Band is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All donations to the band may be tax deductible subject to IRS limitations. As a non-profit organization, our band is supported by its members, audience and community. We need your help! You can become a Podium Club member by making a contribution to our band.
