Car crashes into restaurant, injuring five

LIVINGSTON —Five customers at Livingston restaurant were treated for injuries after a car drove into the buidling in the 200 block of Washgton at 4:10 p.m. Thursday.
Livingston police cited the driver, Andrew Lopez, 17, of Livingston, for no liability insurance and no driver's license. Officer Kevin Ward said the driver failed to control his speed when he entered the parking lot and struck the west side of the building, partially entering through the glass in the dining area.
The driver told officers the brakes on the 1999 Plymouth Breeze had failed.
Four restaurant customers ranging in age from one month old to 51 years old were taken to Memorial Medical Center-Livingston by Americare ambulance with possible injuries, reports show.
