Community band to present second gazebo concert

 LIVINGSTON -- The second Gazebo Concert of the 2007 season for The Livingston Area Community Band will be at 7 p.m. Monday, June 4 at the Livingston Courthouse Gazebo.
This is the seventh year for the band to present their Gazebo Concert series.  The third concert is scheduled for Monday, June 18.
The Gazebo concerts will be followed with concerts at Memorial Point on Saturday, June 30 and Lakeside in Onalaska for the Polk County July 4th celebration and fireworks. This concert will feature a march written for our band and titled, "The East Texas March." 
The premier performance will be conducted by the composer Kelly Bennette, a graduate of Lamar University and former member of the Beaumont Symphony.  The only repeated  selection from the first concert two weeks ago is "Harlem Nocturne" performed by Dennis Athey, on alto sax. 
Some of the other selections you will hear Monday are:  a very exciting 2001 arrangement of "Finiculi-Finicula," the ever popular "Fandango," "Lady of Spain," "Lassus Trombone" featuring  the trombone section and "Brass On Broadway" a medley of broadway favorites including "Slaughter On Tenth Avenue," "The Carousel Waltz," "The Music Of The Night" and "Seventy Six Trombones." 
The conductor of the band since its organization in  996 has been Lowell Clark, who served as Director of Music for the Beaumont I.S.D. for 21 years prior to his retirement to Livingston. 
You may want to bring lawn chairs, cold drinks/snacks, dress casual and enjoy the music.
The Livingston Area Community Band is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  All donations to the Band may be fully tax deductible subject to IRS limitations. As a non-profit organization, The band is supported by its members, audience and community.
