Wanted: July 4th parade signup under way
Polk County Enterprise, June 2007
LIVINGSTON — Organizers for the Livingston Main Street Fourth of July celebration are working to expand this year’s patriotic celebrations. Any individuals or groups that want to be part of this year’s parade should contact the Main Street office to reserve their spot in the lineup, according to Main Street Director Bob Zeigler.
This year’s parade will include tractors, antique and classic cars, motorcycles, horses and floats as well as walking entries.
“We would like to assemble a large number of tractors to cruise through downtown Livingston for this year’s parade,” Zeigler said.
Whether your favorite ride is classic car, a brand new hot rod or is customized with plenty of chrome and spinning rims, you’re welcome to join in this year’s celebration.
There will also be a division for off-road vehiciles.
Riding mowers will have their special category whether it’s an off-the-showroom grass cutter or an overhauled racing mower.
If you prefer to manage your grass with equine service, you can enter it in the horses, horse-drawn wagon or carraiges group.
ATV’s, including four-wheelers, gators, mules and rangers will be included.
As always, organizations and individuals are welcome to enter their floats and bands.
For more information, contact the Main Street office at 327-1050. Entrant must contact the Main Street Office to be able to participate.
