Crime Stoppers seek clues in cemetery vandalism
Polk County Enterprise, August 2007

LIVINGSTON — Livingston Police Department is currently investigating two incidences of criminal mischief at Forest Hill Cemetery in the 1700 block of S. Washington that occurred during the past month.

On July 9 and July 21 an unknown person or persons entered the cemetery and pushed over several headstones and damaged them, Livingston Police Department spokesman Matt Parrish said.

Criminal mischief that occurs in a cemetery with damage under $20,000 is a state jail felony.

Anyone with information on these offenses is asked to call the Livingston Police Department at (936_ 327-3117 or Crime Stoppers at (936) 327-STOP.

Forest Hills Cemetery Association spokesman Stacy Peebles said one of the headstones that was toppled and heavily damaged marks the grave of former Livingston atttorney Fox Campbell. The white marble marker would cost $6,000 to replace, Peebles said.
