Community asked to help fill stockings for troops

LIVINGSTON – Family and Individuals Thanking Heroes (FAITH) military support group has had 200 stocking donated and would like the community’s help filling them.
Between now and Dec. 3, the group is accepting donations of small items to place in the stockings - ranging from paperback books to cans of tuna or chicken. Other items needed include socks, puzzle books, trail mix, hard candy, sun block, hand sanitizer, eye drops, deodorant, beef jerky, wet wipes, granola bars, instant drink mix, peanut butter, Q-tips, and insect repellant.
Additionally, 200 Christmas cards have been purchased and are available at the Polk County Enterprise office for folks to come by and sign, sending warm wishes to the troops.
FAITH is currently sending more than 200 boxes per months to Polk County military personnel around the world. Postage costs are $8.95 per box. Care package items include food, hygiene supplies, books, snacks and letters to our hometown heroes. Each Recipient has a tie to Polk County.
Donations of cash or supplies may be made at Livingston Physical Therapy, 305 W. Mill St. or the Polk County Enterprise, 100 E. Calhoun.
The following items CANNOT be accepted - pork, aerosols, glass or chocolate.
