Crimestoppers seeking info on church vandalism

LIVINGSTON – Polk County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a case of felony criminal mischief that occurred some time between Nov. 25 and Nov. 28 at the Jones Prairie Baptist Church.
Damage, estimated at about $10,000, includes fire damage, according to Det. Stan Galloway of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Based on evidence found at the church, the incident is being investigated as a potential hate crime, Galloway said.
Detectives are also investigating a burglary in the Beech Creek subdivision that occurred Nov. 27, Galloway said.
A 200 Kawasaki four-wheeler and 16-foot low-boy trailer were taken. Suspects also broke into the house and took several firearms, Galloway said.
