Victim of Shelter Cove shooting dies in Houston Wednesday

LIVINGSTON — Raymond Keith Rhodes, 52, died in Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston from gunshot wounds that occurred at the man’s Shelter Cove residence Saturday, Dec. 8.
Lt. Craig Finegan said an autopsy was performed Thursday and the investigation into the shooting is continuing.
Texas Ranger Ron Duff is assisting with the investigation.
Family members became concerned about the victim when they were unable to contact him Saturday and they went to his residence in Shelter Cove, Capt. Rickie Childers said. When they discovered the shooting, they called 911.
Anyone who saw or heard unusual activity at that location Saturday is encouraged to call Polk County Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest and grand jury indictment of the person or persons involved in the shooting.
