Polk County Enterprise - February 2008
LIVINGSTON — At presstime Wednesday, Polk County sheriff’s deputies and Livingston Police were assisting the Texas Attorney General Office of the Inspector General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in executing several arrest warrants.
Chief Deputy Byron Lyons said local officials did not have specific details of the charges or suspects that were being sought, but had simply responded to a request for assistance from the state and federal agencies.
Livingston Police Department spokesman Lt. Matt Parrish said additional manpower had been sent to the west end area of Livingston early Wednesday afternoon, but his department was not notified in advance of the operation.
Reports indicated a total of seven individuals had been detained as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.
One additional person was released after he was identified as an undercover officer assisting with the apprehension.
