Walk down memory lane at LISD 100th celebration
Polk County Enterprise - March 2008
LIVINGSTON — Plans are completed for the LHS 100th Celebration Event, Saturday, April 26th at Lion’s Stadium and the Historical Marker Event at the Old Auditorium on West Church Street in Livingston. Shuttle parking will be provided with school buses which will run back and forth to the parking lots of Pine Ridge Elementary School at 1200 N. Platt Street, and Timber Creek Elementary School at 701 N. Willis Street.
These shuttles will drop off and pick up at the gate entrance every 10 minutes starting at 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Decade tent will be set up in the stadium to register so former students can register for their class. The various organizations of current Livingston High School will be food vendors so watch future editions of the Enterprise for what each group will be selling for lunch that day. “We encourage everyone to support these high school organizations, enjoy a picnic lunch with old friends and faculty (former and present), and a “fun walk down memory lane,” Linda Watson said.
Also, there are commemorative ornaments for sale at the First National Bank & the First State Bank. They are 24-carat gold flashed brass size 2 1/2 by 2 1/4 collectible ornaments. One has “LHS 100 year Celebration” inscribed and the other is an image of the Old LHS Auditorium. They sell for $10 each. Because there is a limited amount of these keepsakes, they must be purchased and picked up at these locations only. They cannot be mailed. Bring your lawn chairs. The pep rally is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. The deadline for Memorial donations is April 1 .
