Corrigan man killed in crash

CORRIGAN — A Corrigan man was killed in a one-car crash on U.S. 59 1.4 miles south of Corrigan at 5:27 a.m. Saturday, according to a report by Trooper Darwin Evans with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Conrado DelToro Peña, 32, was northbound on U.S.59 in a 2000 Dodge Durango when the vehicle drifted onto the improved shoulder on the right side of the roadway. He overcorrected and slid across the northbound lanes and the median and the vehicle came to rest on the driver’s side, Evans’ report said.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt. He was not ejected the vehicle but died on the scene, the report said. He was pronounced dead at 6:30 a.m. by Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace David Johnson and was taken to Corrigan Funeral Home.
