The district covers 19 counties including the greater part of East Texas and Montgomery County. "Serving the people of Senate District 3 is a tremendous honor and I ask for their support so we can continue to work to make our state's government more efficient and accountable," said Nichols. Since being elected in 2007, Nichols has built a strong conservative record and has authored and passed legislation to protect landowners' rights, increase educational opportunities in East Texas, reform transportation policies, and promote free-market principles. Nichols has continued to stay faithful to the 'Texas Taxpayer Protection Pledge', which opposes any and all efforts to increase taxes. "The priorities of Senate District 3 are my priorities," said Nichols. "My work in the Legislature is driven by the interests and concerns that are brought to me by the citizens I represent. I work every day to fix them."
