Trinity County Fair to celebrate 30 years
The 2017 Trinity County Fair and Youth Livestock Show is coming up on Friday March 17 and Saturday March 18. This will be the 30th year for the show to be held in Trinity County. This year's show and live auction will have about 146 animal projects, 19 Steers, 4 pens of Commercial Heifers, 9 Lambs, 23 Goats, 33 pens of Fryers, 4 pens of Broilers and 54 Swine. There will also be a silent auction for welding, woodworking and baked goods projects. Auto mechanic and cosmetology projects will be for display only. Competition starts Friday March 17 at 2:00 p.m. with Fryers and followed by Goats and Swine. Competition on Saturday March 18th starts early with Broilers and Commercial Heifers at 7 a.m. and followed by Lamb and Steers. This year's Pet Show with Pastor Lewis Jones will begin at 11:30 a.m, on Saturday prior to the Awards Presentation at 5 p.m. The live Auction will start Saturday March 18th at 5:30 p.m. The concession stands will be open with lots of great food and drinks. We need volunteers to work in the concession stands and you can contact Dorothy Rosser at 936- 238-8693 to sign up. It takes a lot of hard work from the volunteers and students to get ready and we hope that everyone will come out and support and enjoy this year's Fair.
