Hudson wins T-Ball Tournament

   Groveton hosted the District 2A T-Ball Tournament begin-ning Friday, June 15, and continuing through Monday, June 18.  Eleven teams were entered in the double elimination Dixie League event.  Players came from Hudson, Diboll, Cold Springs, Central, and Corrigan, as well as two local Tri-Cities teams.  A Hudson team won the tournament, and will advance to state competition.

    The tournament is a yearly event held in rotating locations.  Proceeds from the tournament are used to purchase equipment, pay utilities, pay officials, and for upkeep and improvements to the baseball complex.

    Arthur Yarbrough, president of the local Tri-Cities Youth Sports League, said, “I would like to thank all the teams that participated.  I also want to thank all those who pitched in and helped to run a successful tournament under severe weather conditions. They did an exceptional job.”
