Grand Jury hands down 12 indictments for crimes committed in county.

GROVETON – A 29-year-old Huntington man held following a two-county crime spree was formally indicted Wednesday, Dec. 19, in connection with an Apple Springs video store robbery.
Jarrod Wayne Gee was indicted on a first degree felony charge of aggravated robbery in connection with the Sept. 26 holdup of the Videos and More store in northern Trinity County.
Gee is accused of using a shotgun to threaten store clerk Melinda Herzog during the course of the robbery, which netted the bandit only “a small amount of cash,” according to Trinity County Sheriff Steven Jones.
The Apple Springs robbery was only one incident in a crime spree reported on Sept. 26. In addition, Gee is accused of robbing the Home Mini-Mart and two women at a Lufkin car wash, both in Angelina County. He also is charged with running over a Lufkin woman in the Brookhollow subdivision with a borrowed car.
If convicted of the aggravated robbery charge in Trinity County, Gee faces a possible sentence of between 15 years and life in prison.
The indictment in the Apple Springs armed robbery case was one of 13 returned Dec. 19 by a Trinity County grand jury meeting in Groveton.
The grand jury also formally filed criminal charges against:
• James W. Drone of Trinity, who was indicted on felony aggravated assault in connection with a Nov. 28 incident at the Sportsman’s Retreat resale shop in Sebastopol. Drone is accused of placing an elderly woman in fear of “imminent bodily injury or death” while committing theft.
• Tommie Laray Simmons and Earl B. Ware, who were each indicted on felony aggravated robbery charges. According to the indictments, the two men are charged in connection with a Sept. 8 incident in which Darren Palmer suffered bodily injury during the course of a robbery. The indictment charges that Simmons and Ware struck Palmer with fists.
• James Marvin Ringo, who was indicted on an felony aggravated assault charge in connection with a May 27 incident in which Connie Hamm was struck in the face and chest
• Joe Louis Greggs, who was indicted on felony aggravated assault in connection with an Oct. 5 incident in which Raven Colter was punched and kicked.
• Charles Douglas Morton, who was indicted on felony aggravated assault in connection with an Oct. 5 incident in which Tammy Martin was struck in the face with a fist.
• Victor Ramon Allen of Trinity, who was indicted on felony driving while intoxicated in connection with an arrested on Dec. 8. The indictment indicated Allen had two before been convicted of DWI, first in 1994 in Taylor County and in April of this year in Harris County.
• Elton Ray Grimes, who was indicted on a felony charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon. According to the indictment, Grimes is accused of carrying a handgun onto a premise licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages on Jan. 19.
• James Breier, who was indicted on a state jail felony charge of theft in connection with a July 30 incident involving the theft of money from Dave Thompson by deception.
• Christine Williams, who was indicted on three counts of forgery in connection with three checks passes in October and November totaling $800.
• James Thomas Fransaw, who was indicted on a state jail felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
• Cannisius Williams, who was indicted on a misdemeanor assault charged in connection with a Sept. 27 incident in which Emmanuel Blanton was cut with a box cutter.
