Bonnie and Joe Kennedy of Groveton received the Residential Yard of the Month from Keep Trinity County Beautiful.  The "Palm Tree House" on Hwy 287 has a very attractive yard that draws attention from all who pass.  The house located at 200 E. First Street is the Jerry McGee/Avery house.  Built near the turn of the 20th Century, the dwelling contains many artifacts from previous owners.  Mr. McGee and his wife were world travelers and collected many interesting objects. 

   Bonnie and Joe acquired the house in a very neglected condition, and have turned it into a showplace.  They also have purchased adjoining lots and created a very pleasant atmosphere with ornamental cactus; objects from the settler days of Texas and a Koi pond.

   Visitors to the area often call the Chamber of Commerce asking who owns the property.  KTCB recognizes their contribution to our community and thank them for their outstanding work.
