Theater Class Performs Confederate Letters

Groveton High School Theater performed Confederate Letters for UIL-OAP com-petition this spring and advanced to State Alternate at Regional competition. At Zone competition in Crockett, Chris Cannon won the best actor award; Laura Worsham won the best actress award; Nicholas Kennedy, Desiree Mitchell, and Wade Williams won All-Star Cast awards; Zach Williams and Brooke Johnson won Honorable Mention awards; Bryant Jopplin won the All-Star Sound Award; and Stuart Dial won All-Star Lighting award.
At District competition in Crockett, Nicholas Kennedy won the Best Actor award; Laura Worsham won the Best Actress award; Chris Cannon and Desiree Mitchell won All-Star Cast awards; Wade Williams and Brooke Johnson won Honorable Mention awards; and Stuart Dial won an All-Star Crew award.
At Area competition in Athens, Desiree Mitchell and Nicholas Kennedy won All-Star Cast awards; Chris Cannon won an Honorable Mention award; and Stuart Dial won an All-Star Crew award.
At Regional competition in Nacogdoches, Chris Cannon won the Best Actor award; Nicholas Kennedy won an All-Star cast award; and Laura Worsham won an Honorable Mention award.
This is Mrs. Kennedy’s last year as the GHS theatre teacher and One-Act Play director. She would like to thank the community and all of her former and present students for their support during the past thirteen years.
