God Has A Pattern

Can we all understand the Bible alike? God has always been strict with His Word.
Revelation 22:18-19 begins, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book. If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plaques that are written in this book:” “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things which are written in this book.”
We cannot add to or take from His Word. If we do, He’ll remove our names from the Book of Life. He was strict in Old Testament days. The Israelites were taught in Deuteronomy 4:2, “Ye shall not add unto the Word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
You can hardly get people to understand the Word alike. Is there an excuse for not understanding it alike? No! People have different interpretations. What about a blueprint? How many ways do you read a blueprint? One of course.
If you were a contractor and you gave four carpenters each a blueprint of a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, what would you do if they built four different houses? You wanted the four houses to be the same. If one carpenter built a 2 bedroom, 1 bath house or a 5 bedroom, 1 bath house, you would fire him, wouldn’t you?
God has given us a pattern (a road map, the Bible) and if we don’t follow it, He’ll condemn us (or fire us) in the last day as shown in Matthew 10:22, “He that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
He has given us a pattern to live by and of how and what to preach and how He wants His church built. II John, the 4th verse states, “I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.” The 5th verse continues, “And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.”
Read the whole chapter of II John. It is just 13 verses and lays it out real good of how we’re supposed to live. The 10th and 11th verses tells us that if any come and bring not this doctrine, don’t receive them or bid them God speed, for if we bid them God speed, we’d be a partaker of his evil deeds.
The Holy Spirit will guide us. According to I John 2:27, “The anointing of the Holy Spirit will t4each you all things.” People depend on what their preachers tell them.
II Timothy 2:15 reads, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” There are so many beliefs out there. Education is good but not enough. Being wise is not enough. We must know the Word and let the Holy Spirit guide us into all truths. Nothing can change the truth that God has given us. Nothing or no one!! Should we wait for family, friends or church to change? We must do it ourselves.
Philippians 2:12 relates to us to work out our own salvation. Have you done that?
There were religious people in the Bible who thought they were doing right in the sight of God. Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, ‘Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven.” (Read also verses 22 and 23).
When I got saved my pastor said I was too over zealous, when I got the Holy Ghost and was called to preach. Another said I was just called to do personal work. When Joyce Meyer received the Holy Ghost she was in a large church. Dwight Thomason – some will never see the Holy Ghost move of God. Don’t know what it is to be called a Holy Roller. There is a great falling away now – but there’s only one pattern – God’s pattern!
