Chamber of Commerce week, slated October 15-19 has been declared in Texas, and all local Chamber of Commerce are being honored. Started by the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE), the oldest organization in the country for training and educating chamber professionals. Chamber of Commerce Week then celebrates the 617 Chambers of Commerce in Texas that work diligently behind the scenes to create jobs, implement beautification programs, improve education, campaign for improved streets and highways, and stimulate industrial, commercial and agricultural growth. Liberty County Judge Phil Fitzgerald officially proclaimed that the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Cleveland Area Chamber of Commerce be honored for their contributions they have made to education, economic development and community development. Fitzgerald signed a resolution on October 11 to honor these aforementioned Chambers for its many accomplishments, and to encourage citizens to congratulate and support all of the Liberty County area Chambers.
