In the case of the assault of a Dayton woman and the death of an infant, an arrest has been made, according to Dayton police Sergeant John Coleman.
Mario Lavell Cockerham has been charged with Capital Murder in the death of his six-month-old daughter. The baby was found dead early Friday morning, March 23, in the Dayton Housing Authority. Alicia Ross, her mother, was found with many stab wounds.
Cockerham was arrested on Monday, March 26, and arranged bail on another charge of Aggravated Assault. If convicted, he faces a life sentence with parole or may receive the death penalty in the death of his daughter.
