Big Thicket Messenger - May 2007

The Friends of Murphy Memorial Library in Livingston  are having  a Spring half-price book sale from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20 and 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.

This Sale will take place in the same room that the friends sell used books every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Enter the main door of Murphy Memorial Library and turn right.

The Friends will be selling all of their books, magazines, movies and etc. half price. We have several videos for sale now. They have added three new sets of shelves in the past few months so now have many books on display for every one to choose from.

All proceeds of the book sale will be used to benefit the library. State subsidies are being cut so it is imperative that they raise more funds for the library to remain the vital place for the community. In the past, the friends have used proceeds from the membership drive and from book sales to purchase new materials for the library and to provide prizes for the Summer Reading Club members.

All donations of books, movies and audio books or videos are greatly appreciated.

The library is located at 601 West Church Street in Livingston.
