CORRIGAN --Funeral services for Lee Nan Purvis, age 52, of Corrigan were held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Corrigan with Rev. Phil Corbett and Rev. Ralph Johnston officiating. She was born December 23, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas the daughter of James Purvis and Charlene Alsbrooks and passed away on August 19, 2011 in San Augustine, Texas. Lee Nan is survived by Milton and Carla Purvis, brother and sister-in-law of Corrigan, Molly Locke, aunt of Corrigan, Johnnie Byrd Thomas, aunt of Corrigan, Mary Alice and Billy Fisher, aunt and uncle of Corrigan, Sandra Ann Sailor, aunt of Corrigan, Cleo “Pee Wee” Purvis, uncle of Corrigan, John Paul and Jan Purvis, uncle and aunt of Corrigan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jay Locke, uncle; Myra Rathburn, aunt and Numerous other relativesn Donations can be made to the Charlene Purvis Scholarship Fund, C-CISD 504 S Home St, Corrigan, Texas 75939 Cochran Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Evelyn Pyle, 85, of Corrigan, Texas were held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Interment followed in the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto, Texas. Mrs. Pyle was born December 3, 1925 in Corrigan, Texas and passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas. She was a member of the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker most of her life. She proudly served her country during WW II in the United States Army. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hamilton Pyle; parents, Archie Loving and Hattie (Sage) Loving; brother, Billy Archie Loving; sisters, Hester Beaty, Edith Purvis, Mary Lee Tullos, Marguerite Rittman and Bertha Loving. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Terri Pyle of Woodville, Texas; daughters, Joann Neal of Corrigan, Texas, Sandra Billeaudeaux of Princeton, Texas; grandchildren, Jason and Missy King, Jana and Shawn Bouse, Jody Billeaudeaux, Steven Wadlington, Trevor Bardeman, Tyler Bardeman; 4 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Jason King, Thomas Tullos, Jody Billeaudeaux, Billy Scoggins and George Pyle.
CORRIGAN -- Graveside Services for Clara Mae McWilliams, 78, of Carmona, Texas will be held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Mrs. McWilliams was born February 6, 1933 in Paris, Kentucky and passed away July 3, 2011 in the Trinity Mission Health and Rehabilitation of Diboll, Texas. Mrs. McWilliams was a housewife and a member of the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas. She is remembered for enjoying the Christmas season with her husband at the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. McWilliams; parents, Will and Irene (Zimmerman) Garrison; sons, Duane Holt and John McWilliams. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Vicky McWilliams of Baltamore, Maryland; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Larry Neal of Baltamore, Maryland and Linda and Carl Thomas of Carmona, Texas; granddaughter and husband, Sherry and Leslie Mochman of Corrigan, Texas; 14 other grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
