CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for Evelyn Pyle, 85, of Corrigan, Texas were held at on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan with Bro. Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Interment followed in the Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto, Texas. Mrs. Pyle was born December 3, 1925 in Corrigan, Texas and passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas. She was a member of the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker most of her life. She proudly served her country in the United States Army. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Hamilton Pyle; parents, Archie Loving and Addie (Sage) Loving; brother, Billy Archie Loving; sisters, Hester Beaty, Edith Purvis, Mary Lee Tullos, Marguerite Rittman and Bertha Loving. She is survived by her son, George Terry Pyle of Woodville; daughters, Jo Ann Neal of Corrigan, Sandra Billadeau of Princeton; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Jason King, Thomas Tullos, Jody Billadeau, Billy Scoggins and George Pyle.
LUFKIN -- Funeral services for Tony DeNerio Cooper, 25, of Corrigan, Texas will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Corrigan, Texas with Rev. Willie Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. The family will receive friends Friday, July 22, 2011 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Cooper was born November 26, 1985 in Livingston, Texas to Charlie Mose Cooper Jr. and Doris Maria Whitaker and passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011, in Lufkin, Texas. He married his wife Sandra Maribel Zuniga in Lufkin on June 16, 2009. He was employed at Lufkin Industries Inc. and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Maribel Zuniga of Diboll, Texas; son, Tony De- Nerio Cooper Jr. of Diboll, Texas; daughter, Monica Shardae Cooper of Diboll, Texas, parents, Charlie Mose and Doris Marie (Whitaker) Cooper Jr. of Corrigan, Texas; brothers: Larry Whitfield Jr. of Corrigan, Texas, Egner Kennard Whitfield of Corrigan, Texas, Charlie Cooper III of Corrigan, Texas; sisters: Rachel Lachael Wise of Corrigan, Texas, Aquila Franklin of Corrigan, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends. CORRIGAN -- Funeral services for David Lynn Currie, 67, of Corrigan, Texas were held Thursday, July 14, 2011 in the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Albert Harris, Bro. Lesly Wilkinson and Bro. Curtis Jordan officiating. Interment followed in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Mr. Currie was born July 20, 1943 in Crockett, Texas and passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, in the Corrigan LTC Partners Nursing Home in Corrigan, Texas. He was employed as a salesman for M.C. Hughes Oil Company and was a member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas where he served as a deacon for 26 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, David T. and Allie Elizabeth (Gates) Currie; twin brother, Thomas Glenn Currie and brother,: Billy B. Gates, Doug Gates and sister, Betty S. Woods. He is survived by his wife, Leona (Jordan) Currie of Corrigan, Texas; son, Gary Lynn Currie of Corrigan, Texas; step-son, David Charles Broaddus of Huntington, Texas: daughter, Ollie Shirlene of Corrigan, Texas; step-daughter, Judy Pegoda of Huntsville, Texas; brother, Leroy Gates of Goodrich, Texas, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, special care giver and friend, Theresa Rivera of Corrigan, Texas and numerous other relatives and friends. CORRIGAN -- Funeral Services for Joe L. Bennett Sr., 77, of Camden, Texas were held at on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Family Life Center of the First Baptist Church in Corrigan with Rev. Charles Darden officiating. Interment followed at the Lily Island Cemetery in Camden, Texas. Mr. Bennett was born March 15, 1934 in Kountze, Texas to John Handley Bennett and Edna Newman, and passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, in Lufkin, Texas. He worked as a foreman of road maintenance for the county road system of Polk County, Texas for 53 years and was a Baptist by faith. He also served on the Chester ISD School Board and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gazette Morris Bennett; parents, sister, Inez Warren and daughter, Alice McNeal. He leaves to cherish his life and legacy, sons, Gregory Bennett (Mary) of Sugarland, Texas, Joe L. Bennett, Jr. (Sonya) of Duncanville, Texas, Donald Hamilton (Deborah) of Fresno, Texas; daughters, Cheri Bennett- Douglas (James) of Lufkin, Texas, Erica B. LUFKIN -- Funeral services for Richard Preston Stout Sr., 74, of Moscow, Texas were held on Sunday, July 3, 2011 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan with Bro. Gary York officiating. Interment followed in the Holhausen- Darby Cemetery in Moscow, Texas. Mr. Stout was born January 17, 1937 in Vinon, Louisiana and passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 in Moscow, Texas. He was a member of The Jubilee Baptist Church of Diboll, Texas; he was also a member of the Lions Club. He was self employed as a sawyer in the lumber industry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to garden. His hard work set a great example for his children and grandchildren who greatly admired his work ethic. They are proud to call their father and grand father a self-made man. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Carol and Pansy Lee (Perry) Stout; brother, John Stout and great grandson: Kolton Proctor. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Stout of Moscow, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Richard P Jr. and Shelia Stout of Moscow, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Mylinda and Donnie Proctor of Moscow, Texas, Patricia Ann and Michael Willette of Moscow, Texas; sisters and brothers-inlaw, Elaine and Robert Gossett of Corrigan, Texas, Doris and Tommy Adkison of Corrigan, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Bryant, Michelle Bryant, Billy Max Raulston, Jeremy Proctor, Don-Don Proctor, Richard Stout, Matthew Stout, 10 Great Grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. LIVINGSTON — Funeral services for Felder Lafayette Dubois Sr., 72, of Livingston were held Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the Cochran Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Thompson officiating, assisted by Angela Cox. Interment followed in Jones Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers were Christopher Hooper, Shaun Dubois, Joshua Hooper, Steven Dubois, John Tyler Wilson, Brian Hickman, Kaden Wilson and James Stricklin. Honorary pallbearers were Mason Brother Trinity 14, Corrigan 1103, OES 1139 and 631, special friends at SHECO, Billy Bergman and Doug Bergman. He was born Oct. 29, 1938 in Lena, La., to Ralph Lafayette Dubois and Delsie Guin Dubois, and died on June 20, 2011 in Livingston. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Melton Dubois and Ralph Wayne Dubois.
