Dorothy Joseph
Dorothy Jean Joseph, 77, of Livingston, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery all in Woodville. Officiating will be Brother Robert Smith and Brother Ken DeRouen. Serving as pallbearers Dorothy Josephare Michael Higgins, William Holden, Brad Carr, Victor Carr, Greg Kirkpatrick and James Robert Phillips. Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 21st from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dorothy was born January 10, 1932 to George & Zula Deggs Carr in Mobile, Texas. She was retired from the restaurant industry. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Zula Carr; husband, Robert Joseph, and her sisters, Virgie Phillips and Frances Dailey. She is survived by her sons, George Carr and wife, Kay of Woodville and John Bates and wife, Teresa of Batesville, AK; daughters, Gloria Carr of Livingston, Elizabeth Holden & husband, Bill of Beaumont, Linda Higgins & husband, Michael of Pflugerville and Thelma Kirkpatrick & husband, Greg of Warren; sisters, Georgia Mae Dominey, Jessie Pugh and Barbara Reynolds & husband, Otis all of Woodville and Carolyn Sue Wells & husband, Charlie of Nederland; twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Robert Gillespie
Robert J. Gillespie, 78, of Warren died Monday, July 20, 2009, at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville. Robert was born August 11, 1930 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Robert Franklin and Dellie Estelle (Lyle) Gillespie. He was an independent businessman and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Merlene Gillespie of Warren; children, Debbie Stephenson and her husband Billy of Vidor, Jeannie Gillespie of Houston, and Deena Morris and her husband Jack of Warren; sisters, Helen Warren of Silsbee and Inez Valdez of Beaumont; grandchildren, Teresa Rivera, Wayne Stephenson, Robert Morris, and Stormy Morris; and four great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze. Willie Glach
Willie Delorise Bryant King Glach, 86, of Beaumont passed away peacefully on July 17, 2009. Born September 20, 1922 in the Bethany Community now known as Colmesneil to the late Ross M. and Lila Tucker Bryant, she was a longtime resident of Beaumont. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marris “Billy” King and Steve Glach; son-in-law, Bill Emert; brother and sister-in-law, Ross and Billie Jean Bryant. Mrs. Glach is survived by her loving children, Marris B. King and wife, Elva of Colmesneil and Billie Ann King Emert of Montgomery; sister, Helen Faye Jackson and husband, Calvin of Woodville; grandchildren, Marris Kevin King and wife, Lora, Lt. Col. Michael Kerry King and wife, Alicia, Natalie Ruth Emert, Chaundra Lasater and husband, James and Phaeron Dawn Emert; great grandchildren, Zachary James, Aaron Shawn, Lauren Anne, Olivia Noel, Gabriella Christine, Caleb Steven and Joshua James Lasater, Emma Katherine King, Bryant Edward King, Reece Katelyn King, Connor Ross King, Tanner Ryan King, Scott King, Kayla Goodman and Amada Bailey; great, great grandchildren, Phillip and Reagen Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral service was held Monday, July 20, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church in Colmesneil with Brother J. C. Smith, Jim Turner, Kevin King and Phae Emert officiating. Burial followed at the Bethany Cemetery next to the church. Visitation was held Sunday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers were nephews. Services were held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
