Johnnie Lee Richardson, 91, of Warren passed away June 25, 2012. Syble Richardson, 89, of Warren passed away June 22, 2012. Johnnie was born July 1, 1920 in Lyrie, Texas to John and Mary Richardson and Syble was born October 4, 1922 in North Zulch, Texas to Ferdinand and Ruth Ball, the both lived in Warren for many years. Johnnie and Syble were World War II veterans, where they met and fell in love. Johnnie graduated from Warren High School in 1940 and after being discharged from the military worked for the railroad retiring in 1981 from the Port Terminal RR in Houston, Texas. After marrying Johnnie on August 4, 1944, Syble chose to stay home and take care of their family. After retiring, Johnnie and Syble moved to Warren to enjoy retirement. Both became members of the First Baptist Church in Warren, Johnnie was a mason with the Myrta Lodge #658 in Warren and Syble was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #315 in Spurger. Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Rodney Richardson; brothers, Elton Richardson, Albert Richardson and Carl Richardson; and a sister, Annie Mae Hyde. Johnnie was survived by his brother, Lester Richardson of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews. Syble was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Rodney Richardson; a sister and brother. Syble was survived by her husband and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Syble was held Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Hester Cemetery in Warren with Brother Troy Richardson officiating. Visitation was held Monday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A small chapel service was held for Johnnie on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 11 am at the funeral home with Brother Troy Richardson officiating. A private burial was held at Hester Cemetery in Warren. Both services were held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
Edith Marie Romero, 87, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Warren, TX, passed peacefully into the hands of our Savior on June 22, 2012. Edith, known by some as Marie, is reunited in God’s kingdom with her loving husband, Clobus Romero, of 54 years. She was also preceded in death by her only child, James David Rayner Sr.; great grandchild, James David Stratton; and her parents, Peter and Maud Renfro. In addition, Edith had 9 siblings precede her in death, and is survived by her brother, Woodrow Renfro. Survived by her are grandchildren, James David Rayner Jr and his wife Dawn, their children, Taylor, Bailey, and Delaney. She spent the last 4 years living with them in San Antonio. She is also survived by granddaughter, Heather Rayner; grandson, Scott Rayner, and his children, Andrew and Zachary; grandson, Mark Rayner and his wife Olivia, and their son, Marcus; granddaughter, Nancy Rayner and her husband Shelly Stratton, their children, Sienna and Slade; and grandson, Kevin Rayner. Edith’s legacy was created through her 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, Texas, where funeral services was held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Adams officiating. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery. Her family would like to thank the loving and compassionate caretakers of Stone Oak Care Center, Fresenius Dialysis Clinic, and Odyssey Hospice. Juanita Gayle Glasgow, 50, of Jasper died on June 26, 2012 at her residence. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial to follow at Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. A lifelong resident of Jasper, TX, Juanita was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Jasper. A 1980 graduate of Jasper High School, she was a very loving person. Many of her children’s friends called her Mom. She enjoyed Elvis, roses and taking road trips with her family. She is survived by her mother, Jeanna Powell of Rockdale, TX; special friend, Morgan Brian McElroy of Erin, TX; son, Jesse L. Kimmey of Erin, TX; two daughters, Samantha L. Primrose and husband Buddy and Patricia “Trish” Kimmey and special friend Jerry Hodges Jr., all of Jasper, TX; brother, James Otha Powell Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Jeanette Jones of Rockdale, TX; six grandchildren, Iria, Kaylee, Joshua, Tristan, Cheyenne and James. She is also survived by nieces and nephews that called her mother; Sergeo Hernandez and wife Sarah; Jason Hernandez; Sabrina Jones and several other nieces, nephews and friends. Rickie Lynn Lilley, 52, of Woodville, passed away, Monday, June 25, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral services were held Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Campground Cemetery in Woodville. Officiating were Brother Ken Derouen and Brother Russ Warner. Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Pate, Jimmy Scarberry, Wade Lilley, Billy Robert Milner, Keith Fortenberry, Robby Salmon, Kris Fowler and Ken Dickens. Visitation was held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 5 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Rickie was born August 28, 1959 to Emmitt Wade, Sr. & Frances Pittman Lilley in Jasper, Texas. He was lifelong resident of Tyler County and was a self employed contractor. He was a member of Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt Wade, Sr. & Frances Lilley; and his brother, Emmitt Wade Lilley, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Denise Lilley of Woodville; son, Steven Ryan Winters & wife, Melissa of Woodville; daughters, Rachel Nicole Winters of Woodville, Jenna Lynn Lilley of Houston and Christa Leigh Hernandez & husband, Edi of Gatesville; brothers, Floyd Lilley of Woodville, Bobby Lilley of Livingston, Mickie Lilley of Woodville and Rodger Lilley of Nederland; sister, Katharine Milner of Rockland; grandchildren, Colton Harris and Edi Hernandez, Jr. and numerous nieces & nephews. Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
Wesley G. Pace, 92, of Woodville died Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Tyler County Hospital. Mr. Pace was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 31, 191. He retired from Gulf Oil Company (now Chevron) in Port Arthur, Texas after 40 years of services as a Water Specialist. Once retired, he called Dam-B his home where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In later years, he enjoyed trips to the Coushatta and dining at Golden Corral. He served on the Dam-B Volunteer Fire Department for many years and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. Mr. Pace was a WWII Veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Anita Kay Lloyd and husband, Karl of Mt. View, AR; one daughter-in-law, JoAnn Dumatrait Pace of Orange, Tx, three grandchildren, Linda Pace McNamara and husband, Frank of Lake Charles, LA, Ronda Pace Austin and husband, Denise of Stuttgart, Germany, Joseph R. Pace and wife, Loris of Temple, Tx and four great grandchildren, Marcus McNamara, Matthew McNamara, Jenna McNamara and Elyse Austin. Mr. Pace is preceded in death by his son, Wesley Raymond Pace; his parents, Hillary and Vera Pace; wife of 27 years, Frances Lorraine Haley; wife of 15 years, Irma Pace; friend, Rose Granger; sister, Vivian Trahan and a brother, Eugene Pace. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2012, at the Fariview Cemetery with Rev. Neil Higginbotham of Fairview Baptist Church officiating. Visitation was held Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers were Ryan Bonnin, Todd Fendley, Lawrence Harrell, Marcus Mc- Namara, Matthew McNamara and Joseph Pace. The family wishes to thank all those who assisted in caring for Mr. Pace over the last few years. Memorials may be made to the Dam-B Volunteer Fire Department or the Fairview Baptist Church.
Nita Hooks, 78, of Colmesneil, passed away, Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton, Texas. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Colmesneil. Officiating was Brother David Miller. Nita was born November 14, 1933 to Cal & Eugene Sledge Haley in Crockett, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Colmesneil and was a retired florist. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Colmesneil. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Hooks in 2006; brothers, Jack Haley, L.B. Haley, Calvin Haley & Bob Haley; and sister, Clara Nettles. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Cathy & Mike Wheatley of Jasper; grandchildren, Mike Wheatley, Jr. & Carrie Neely; and great grandchildren, Brandon Neely and McKenzie Wheatley. Cremation services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
