Jackie Dickey
Jackie Dale Dickey, 60, of Colmesneil, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at his residence. Graveside services were held Saturday, June 20th at 3:00 p.m. at the Colmesneil Cemetery. Officiating was his brother-in-law, Jessie Munos. Jackie was born November 30, 1948 to Freeman William & Dixie Ruth Stout Dickey in Wichita Falls, Texas. He had worked as a welder. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Inez Jones St. Cyr. He is survived by his son, Jackie Douglas Dickey of Jennings, LA; daughter, Regina Gayle Bailey of Germany; sisters, Nancy Cemino of Burnet and Vivian Ruth Munos of Houston; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

James Hays
James M. Hays, 78, of Woodville, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Woodville Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Woodville United Methodist Church with burial in Magnolia Cemetery Officiating were Reverend Tommy Williams and Reverend Ray Reed. Serving as pallbearers were Brian McDonald, Keith McBride, Travis Weaver, Woody Davenport, Bill Royal and Herbert Morrell. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Rains, Virgil Cooley and Tommy Bell. Visitation was held Wednesday, June 17th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville. Jim was born March 20, 1931 to Haywood & Pauline Nunnley Hays in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Woodville and a retired Math & Science teacher with 35 years from Woodville Independent School District. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean veteran. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lounell Hays of Woodville; son & daughter-in-law, Keith & Lynn Hays of Woodville; daughters & son-in-law, Benja & Gordon McCluskey of Woodville and Katy Anglin of Houston; sister & brother-in-law, Shirley & William Royal of Spring; brother-in-law, Marvin Davenport; grandchildren, Alisa & Brian McDonald, Jamie & Travis Weaver, Paul McCluskey, Karen & Keith McBride and Justin Anglin; great grandchildren, Blake Hays, Reed Weaver, Brenna McDonald and Shelby McDonald. Memorials may be made to Woodville United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 698, Woodville, Texas 75979. Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Charlotte Brown
Funeral services for Charlotte Anita Hooks Brown, 50, of Hemphill were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Hooks Cravy Cemetery. Visitation will began at 5:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Brown died June 20, 2009 at her residence. A native of Fred, Charlotte lived in Rockland before moving to Hemphill six years ago. She was a housewife. Survivors include husband Steve Brown, Sr. of Hemphill; son Steve Brown, Jr. of Colmesneil; sisters Rose Phillips of Sam Rayburn, Marlene Cropper of Town Bluff, Peggy Baird of Silsbee and Sheila Ann Hutto of Town Bluff; brothers Michael Everett Hooks of Kountze and Sambo Dowden of Fred and four grandchildren Clay, Joseph, Brandon and William Brown. James Hoy
James Joseph Hoy, 71, of Woodville passed away June 20, 2009 at his residence. Born March 27, 1938 in Chicago, ILL to the late Bertrum and Myrtle Killian Hoy, he lived in Woodville for many years. He was a retired electrician and a U.S.. Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his daughters, Jianna Evans of Beaumont and Tammy Hoy of League City; sons, Jimmy Hoy of Kountze, Tom Hoy of Bridge City, Jeff Hoy of New Ulm, and James Hoy, Jr.; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A cremation service was held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.

Judy Derouen
Judy Lyn Derouen, 43, of Spurger, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Spurger, Texas. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. Officiating was Brother Ken DeRouen. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Derouen, Rodney Derouen, Jr., Curtis Henry, Brandon Derouen, Eric Sontag and Brandon Parish. Visitation was held Friday, June 19th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Judy was born April 22, 1966 to Carl & Vera Hunnicutt in Woodville, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Tyler County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Vera Hunnicutt. She is survived by her husband, Scott Derouen of Woodville; sons, Jason Scott Hunnicutt of Silsbee and Jeremy Lionel Derouen of Woodville; daughters, Heather Leann Hunnicutt of Woodville and Hailey Roxanne Derouen of Ivanhoe; grandchild, Braelin Mitchell; brother, Raymond Henry of Woodville; and sisters, Pam Hunnicutt of Ivanhoe, Barbara Frankens of Diboll, Betty Henry and Mildred Powell both of Woodville. Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Kiana Lock
Kiana Marie Rohlack Lock, originally of San Marcos and most recently of Gainesville, Texas, beloved and cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, coach, and friend, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 44. She was born September 9, 1964, in San Marcos, Texas, to Edvin and Mamie Rohlack. She is survived by her husband, Ricky Lock, and children, Lauren, Landon, and Laci Lock, of Gainesville; parents, Edvin and Mamie Rohlack; siblings, Kristopher and Lianet Rohlack, Karlton Rohlack, and Korey Rohlack; and sister, brother, and nephew through marriage, Melody, Vincent, and Joshua Kapchinski. She was preceded in passing by her grandparents, and brother, Hugh Rohlack. Additionally remembering her are the many, many friends she accumulated through the years, touching lives as a coach’s wife, school friend, volleyball player, singer, tutor and nanny abroad, teacher, volleyball coach, cheerleading coach, lunch buddy, crafter, and many more. Family received friends at Pennington Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Celebration of Life services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Hill Country Church in San Marcos. Graveside services followed on Wednesday, June 24, at 6 p.m. at the Corinth Cemetery in Kenard near Crockett. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Pennington Funeral Home, 323 N. Vickey Elam
Vickey Elam, 51, of Woodville, passed away, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her residence. Vickey was born September 18, 1957 to Pat Griffin & Jackie Leonard Cheek in Galveston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Cheek. She is survived by her companion, Edwin Zissa of Woodville; son, Elbert Elam of KY; daughters, Priscilla Elam of Oskaloosa, IA; brothers, Pat Cheek, Jr. of OK and Nickey Cheek of Shepherd; sisters, Bonnie Allen of Longview and Cheryl Moles of OK; and five granddaughters. Cremation services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
