Joyce A. Comte
  Joyce A. Comte, 86, of Woodville passed away June 13, 2008 at the Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.
  Born January 22, 1922 in Colmesneil to the late Jason and Ora Stewart Nowlin, she lived in Tyler County all of her life.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jason and Ora Nowlin; husband, Robert Comte and a grandson, James Ard.
  She is survived by her loving children, Delbert and Dorothy Comte of Troup, Barbara and Mitch Curtis of Tennessee Colony, Tx, Peggy and Ellis Gibbs of Colmesneil, Glenda Ard of Colmesneil, Brenda and Jerry Peck of Fred and Linda and Francis Johnson of Woodville; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; brothers, Billy Max Nowlin of Kirbyville and Travis Glen Nowlin of Mineral Wells; one sister, Nelva Jo Davis of Livingston.
  Funeral services were held Sunday, June 15, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel.  Mrs. Comte’s son, Delbert Comte, and son-in-law, Jerry Peck honored her by officiated the service.  Burial followed at Bethany Cemetery in Colmesneil.  Visitation was held Saturday evening at the funeral home.
 Honoring their grandmother, her grandsons served as pallbearers.

Bertha Ellen Ward
  Bertha Ellen Ward, 88, of Spring, Tx formerly of Woodville passed away June 13, 2008.
  Born January 27, 1920 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Charlie and Mary Baumgardner Dotson, she lived in Woodville before moving to Spring.  She was a retired bookkeeper for The New Leaf Florist.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Garland Ward and a step son, Charles Ward.
  She is survived by her son, Cecil Wesley Ward of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Jacquelene Markgraf of Spring; fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
  A grave side service was held Monday, June 16, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville with Brother Ron Ladwig officiating.  Visitation was held Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Leslie Carol Reider
  Leslie Carol Reider, 49, of Woodville, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at her residence.
  There will be a private family memorial service at a later day.
  Leslie was born December 4, 1958 to Joseph & Edwyna Sue King Eagleson in Port Arthur, Texas.  She was a longtime resident of Woodville and was formerly of Port Arthur.
  She is survived by her father, Joseph C. Eagleson of Woodville; sons & daughter-in-law, Christopher L. & Natalie Eagleson of Woodville and Danny John Church, Jr. of Port Arthur; brother & sister-in-law, Terry Wayne & Vicky Eagleson of Woodville; sister & brother-in-law, Monica & Joseph Pardue of Woodville; and Daniella Church of Nederland.
            Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Hope Butler Seaman
    Hope Butler Seaman, 91, of Town Bluff passed away June 13, 1008.
  Born May 21, 1917 in DeRidder, La to the late Willis and Hazel Michael Butler, she lived in Beaumont for 52 years before moving to Town Bluff in 1993.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew and loved her.
  Mrs. Seaman was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lonnie W. Seaman, son, Charles Seaman, grandchildren, Cathy Seaman, Chucky Seaman and Trent Walton and a great grandchild, Audrey Stanton.
  She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie M. and Carline Seaman of LaPorte, Perry and Shelda Seaman of China and Doug and Felicia Seaman of Nome; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Chris Willett of Town Bluff and Linda and David Harris of Town Bluff; grandchildren, Chip Seaman, Kim Pipkin, Jake Seaman, Rebekah Stanton, Brittnie Coveney, Darel Harris, Ronny Harris, Cody Walton, Adam Walton, Kari Aguilar, Molli Wilson, Michael Gray, Terry Gray and Earline Harris; seventeen great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren; sisters, Mickey Bailey and Rosemary Granberry both of DeRidder, La and Quay Regner of San Antonio and a brother, Asa Butler of DeRidder, La.
  Funeral service was held Monday, June 16, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with Brother John Woodall officiating.  A grave side service was held at 3 p.m at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont.  Visitation was held Sunday evening at the funeral home.
  Serving as pallbearers were Ronny Harris, Adam Walton, Jake Seaman, Brian Stanton, Michael Aguilar, Loye Wilson and Darel Harris.  Serving as Honorary pallbearers were Chip Seaman, Alex Coveney and Cody Walton.

Robert George Downing
  Robert George Downing, 53, of Colmesneil, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville.
  Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Colmesneil under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.  Officiating will be Brother J.C. Smith.  Serving as pallbearers will be his cousins and nephews.
  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
  Robert was born March 15, 1955 to George & Floy Sturrock Downing in Woodville, Texas.  He was a lifelong resident of Tyler County and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
  He was preceded in death by his mother, Floy Downing in 2004.  He is survived by his father, George Downing of Colmesneil; brothers & sister-in-law, Jerry Downing of Colmesneil and James Milton & Ann Downing of Florence, SC; sister & brother-in-law, Glenda & John Jordan of Singer, LA; aunts & uncles, Catherine & R.A. Jernigan of Woodville, Inez Sturrock of Tennessee, J.M. Downing, Sr. of Beaumont and Allen & Rachel Sturrock of Woodville.
            Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Billy Frank "Buzz" Eaves
  Billy Frank "Buzz" Eaves, 78, of Woodville, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 at his residence.
  Funeral services were held Monday, June 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with a masonic graveside service at Campground Cemetery.  Officiating were Dr. Raymond A. Parker and Brother Teddy Mac Minyard.  Serving as pallbearers were Tim Hanks, Tom Hanks, Royce Reid, Lawrence Reid, Doug Bell and Joe Smith.  Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jamar Reid, Jack Hays, Jerry Grimes, Billy Brackin and Foy Swinney.
  Visitation was held on Sunday, June 15th from 3:30-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
  Billy Frank was born August 18, 1929 to Frank & Edith Swearingen Eaves in Woodville, Texas.  He was a lifelong resident of Tyler County. He was a 1946 graduate of Kirby High School and 1951 graduate of Sam Houston State University. He was a Past Master of Woodville Magnolia Masonic Lodge #495,  Past Worthy Patron of Woodville Chapter Order of Eastern Star #462, 32nd degree Mason, El Mina Temple Shriners of Galveston, TX., coached little league, taught defensive driving, local realtor, retired with the Woodville Fire Department, and worked for Tyler County Sheriff's Department as a reserve deputy.  Billy Frank was a retired Special Texas Ranger with 35 years of service with the Texas Forest Service. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Fredna Matthews Eaves; two infant children, mother, father & step-father.  He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Charlotte Tucker Eaves of Woodville; step-daughter & son-in-law, Darlene & Ronnie Taylor of Spring; grandchildren, Danielle Rawls of Huntsville & Dan Marquez Rawls, IV of Spring; great granddaughter, Emilee Sanders of Huntsville; & his beloved dog, Penny & special cousin, Ida Mae Stamps.
            Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Charles Hines Hendry
 Charles Hines Hendrey, 62, of Colmesneil passed away June 14, 2008.
  Born December 3, 1945 in Waynesville, N.C. to the late Louis Briggs Hendry, he lived in Colmesneil for many years.  He was a retired weather technician for the U.S. Air Force.
  He is survived by his loving daughter, Danielle Robert Hoffman of Colmesneil; grandchildren, Breanna Williams of Colmesneil, Katherine Metcalf of Lake Charles, Charles Metcalf of Lake Charles and Faith Hoffman of Colmesneil.
