James C. Steely, Jr.
  James C. Steely, Jr., 83, of LaMarque, formerly of Woodville, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Texas.
  Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 28th at 11:30 a.m. at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.  Officiating will be Rev. Ross Shelton. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Phillips, Kevin Don Steely, Ronnie Davidson, Jeff Steely, Floyd Whitaker and Ray Zalvato.  Honorary pallbearers are Mike Sirman, Byron Kora and the members of the Woodville Magnolia Masonic Lodge #495 and V.F.W. Post #2033.
  Visitation is being held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m.
  James was born May 25, 1925 to James Clay, Sr. & Dora Mae Thompson Steely in Waco, Texas.  He was retired customer engineer from IBM and was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and a member of the Hitchcock Masonic Lodge #1401.
  He was preceded in death by his  wife, Peggy Steely in 2004; parents, James Clay Sr. & Dora Mae Steely; brothers, Robert Steely and Mark Steely; and a sister, Dorothy Davidson.  He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Dennis R. & Pam Steely of LaMarque; daughter & son-in-law, Donna Kay Cradier & Richard Adrian of Port Aransas; brothers & sisters-in-law, Harvey & Merle Steely and Charles & Marlene Steely all of Lumberton; grandchildren, Stephen Christopher Phillips, Kevin Don Steely and Clifford Coy Cradier; great grandchildren, Cassandra Phillips, Aaron Phillips and Carson Clay Steely; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
            Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

William Oswald 'W.O.' Jordan
  William Oswald “W.O.” Jordan, 75, of Warren passed away May 22, 2008 at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Beaumont.
  Born January 30, 1933 in Spurger, Tx to the late Thomas and Addie Bell Crosby Jordan, he lived his entire life in the community that he loved and called home, Tyler County.  He was a self employed general contractor.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew and loved him.
  He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Jordan of Warren; the mother of this children, Vera Jordan of Spurger; children, Lindy Jordan of Livingston, William Charles “Buddy” Jordan of Kirbyville; and Judy Ann Moffet of Overton; step children, Clint Creason of Palm Bay, FL and Stephen Creason of Kountze; brothers, Benjamin Jordan of Paris, Tx and Kirby Jordan of Brazoria; sister, Sina Chandler of Smithville; and ten grandchildren.
  Funeral service was held Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Hall officiating.  A Masonic graveside service was held under the Spurger Masonic Snow River Lodge #385 at Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger.  Visitation was held Friday evening at the funeral home.
  Serving as pallbearers were William Charles Jordan, Truman Loving, Glenn Davis, Jim B. Grissom, Clifford Sims and Charles Rawls.
