Tyler County Booster- March 22, 2009 - March 29, 2009

Roma Freeman
Roma Day Freeman, 66, of Beaumont passed away March 11, 2009.
Born August 30, 1942 in Nashville, Tenn. To Earnest and Juanita Seago Williams, she lived in Beaumont for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Meswerth of Katy and John William Hurst of Gatesville; daughters, Karon Kay Hurst of Beaumont and Brandy Michelle Duhon of Kaplen; sister, Glenda Richards of Kirbyville; brother, John Calvin Williams of Kirbyville;
grandchildren, Kalie Marie Perkins, Courtney King, Bailey Allen Duhon, Marcus Meswerth, John Andrew Hurst, Bryan Meswerth and Kenneth Meswerth.
A graveside service was held Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 2 p. m. at the Mann Cemetery near Colmesneil with Brother Steven Waldrep officiating. Visitation was held Friday evening at the funeral home.
Services were held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.

Harold Ryman
Harold Ryman, 93, of Woodville passed away March 20, 2009 at his residence. Born April 15, 1915 to the late Tom and Myrtle Thompson Ryman, he lived in Woodville for the past 25 years. He was a retired supervisor for Texaco Refinery in Port Arthur and a WWII Army veteran. He was a long time member of the Woodville Magnolia Masonic Lodge #495 and a 32nd Degree Master Mason who through his dedication was awarded the Golden Trowel Award for exceptional service from the Grand Lodge of Texas and a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iyone “Rusty” Ryman; granddaughter, Collette; son, Tommy Gene Ryman; and a daughter, Wanda Wade. M r. Ryman is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Martha Ryman of Irving; sisters, Billie Hebert and husband, Horace of Port Arthur and Lois Roberts of Palestine; brothers, James Street and wife, Kathleen of The Woodlands, Odell Street and wife, Dot of Houston, Edward Street and wife, Rick, of Derry, NH; five grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. F uneral service was held Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lloyd Hendricks officiating. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. at the Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches. Visitation was held Monday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers were the members of the Magnolia Masonic Lodge #495. Funeral services were held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.

Margaret Shird
Margaret Ann Shird – age 51 passed away March 9, 2009 in Liberty.
She was born in Selma,
Alabama November 1, 1957 the daughter of the late Harless
Jackson Stowers and Ella Louise Tolbert Stowers. Margaret last worked for JJ Chevron previously working
at Houston Vacuum as a sales representative for over thirteen years.
She leaves behind her beloved family, her daughter Amy Owens of Liberty, and her son Bobby Owens and his wife Shelly of Kountze, her brother David Stowers and his wife Becky of Livingston, Sister Mary Parnell and her husband Hobert of Rocky Gap, VA and Wanda Sue Railey of Bluefield, West Virginia.
In addition she leaves a close family friend Michelle Kirkpatrick
and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-6pm at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis with a memorial service to be held at 6pm. C

Ruby Christoph
Ruby Christoph, 90, of Woodville,
passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at Woodville Health & Rehab Center.
Funeral Services were held Monday, March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral
Home Chapel in Woodville. Officiating was Brother Randal Pike. Serving as pallbearers were Tommy Lynn Meyka, Garry Moore, Jack Dean, D.B. Dean, Bill Tolar, Paul Miller, Kenneth Conner and Teddy M. Minyard.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 22nd from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruby was born March 3, 1919 to Don & Viola Cain Meyka in Warren, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Christoph; son, Raymond Christoph; & numerous brothers & sisters.
She is survived by her son, Joe Christoph & wife, Shirley of Woodville; daughters, Mildred Flowers Cloyd & husband, Johnny
of Chester, Dorothy Redmon of Woodville, Arlene Saurwein & husband, Wolfgang of Great Falls, MT. and Linda Swatsenberg
& husband, Larry of Watts, OK; brother, Tommy Meyka & wife, Ruth of Splendora; sisters, Willie Sontag of Spurger and Sarah Key & friend, Frank Page of Warren; numerous grandchildren,
great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Services were under the direction
of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
