Robert Leroy Collins
  Robert Leroy Collins, Sr., 74, of Colmesneil, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at Lufkin Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas.
  Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Colmesneil with burial at 3:30 p.m. at Tennessee Colony Cemetery in Palestine, Texas.  Officiating was Brother Shaun Sifford.  Serving as pallbearers were Robert Leroy Collins, Jr., Stephen Delroy Collins, Keith Dwaine Collins, Billy Collins, Nathaniel "Skippy" Collins and Travis Collins.  Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Collins, Nicholas Collins, Matthew Collins and Corey Burson.
  Visitation was held on Monday, November 19th from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
  Robert was born May 27, 1933 to William B., Jr. and Louise McGregor Collins in Washington, D.C.  He was a former resident of Pasadena and lived in Colmesneil for many years.  He had owned and operated Collins Tire Co. where he was affectionately known as "Tire Buster".  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colmesneil and was a U.S. Army veteran.
  He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Collins and sister, Norma Quin.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Collins of Colmesneil; sons & daughters-in-law, Robert Leroy, Jr & Wanda Collins of Conroe, Stephen Delroy & Roxann Collins of Bryan and Keith Dwaine & Gayle of Sugar Land; brothers & sisters-in-law, Billy & Lena Mae Collins of Gilmer and Nathaniel "Skippy" & Jayne Collins of North Shore; seven grandchildren, one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
            Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Frank Chapman
  Frank Chapman, 74, of Jasper, passed away November 15, 2007 at his home. A native of Erin, he was a lifelong resident of the Jasper area and had retired after many years as a self-employed painting contractor. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and a faithful member of Call United Pentecostal Church.                                      
  Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 16 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Forest Oaks.
  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jarrod McCauley.
  Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Clairece Chapman of Jasper; daughters, Melissa Mallett, Cynthia Greenwood, and Pam Powell all of Jasper; brother, Billy Preston Kimmey of Erin; sisters, Judy McLemore of Round Rock and Janell Conner of Colmesneil; extended family, Nellie, Isaac, Natalie, and Nathan Haynes; along with 4 grandchildren.

Mae Irvine Hill
  Mae Irvine Hill, 87, of Woodville entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning, November 18, 2007, in Woodville, Texas.
  She is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Jerry Skinner of Lumberton, Freida and Gene Keith of Hooks and Brenda and Richard Johnston of Woodville; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hill of Cypress, Tx; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Irvine of Brownsboro, Tx and Raymond Irvine of Pt. Neches, Tx..  Mae is also survived by two special nieces, Kathleen Grissom and Wanda Johnston.
  She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hill and a son, Raymond Hill.
  Mrs. Hill was a resident of Nederland for many years prior to moving to Dam-B.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend that left a lasting impression on all lives she touched.
  Funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Riley Funeral Home in Woodville with Brother Randy Herrington and Brother Glenn Washburne officiating.  Burial followed at Colmesneil City Cemetery.  Visitation was held Monday from 5 pm until 9 pm at the funeral home.
  Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Grissom, Dustin Jones, Phil Logston, Jacob Johnston, Jared Johnston and Jordan Skinner.  Honoring their grandmother as honorary pallbearers will be Brent Skinner and Jeff Johnston.

Rodney Edgar
  Rodney Edgar, 42, of  Porter, Texas passed away Wednesday,  November 14, 2007 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.
  Funeral services were held Monday, November 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville.  Officiating was Reverend Scott Niemeier.  Serving as pallbearers were Ronald Dale Smith, Scott Zorzi, Jeff Rhea, Steve Avenell, Ray Lewis and Robert Thompson.
  Visitation was held on Sunday, November 18th from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home
  Rodney was born May 26, 1965 to Franklin Bruce and Dorothy Ann Smith Edgar in Bellaire, Texas.  He was a longtime resident of the Houston area and  worked for Houston Air Systems.
  He is survived by his father, Franklin Bruce Edgar of Newport News, VA; mother & step father, Dorothy Ann & Charles Niemeier of Woodville; brothers, James Edgar of Porter and Chuck Edgar of Augusta, GA; step brother, Scott Niemeier of Baytown; sister, Teresa O’Brien of Gastonia, NC; step sister, Robin Rhea of Lumberton and numerous nieces and nephews.
  Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
