Gil Carter
Memorial funeral services for Gil Carter, 44, of Jasper were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jasper. Gil passed away September 4, 2009 at his residence. A native of Henderson, he was a longtime Jasper resident. A 1983 graduate of Henderson High School, he received a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches where he was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He worked with Temple Inland Corp in the Quality Control Department for over 15 years, and then began his own company, AGC III Optimum Fiber LLC, until the time of his death. He was a racing fan and enjoyed cats, music, sports, especially college football, and working in his yard. Survivors include his motherBarbara Pollard Carter of Rusk, wife Summer Mitchell Carter of Jasper, father & mother-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Mitchell of Austin, sister Candace Carter Riddle & husband Mark of Houston, cousin Billy Carter & wife Doris of Carthage. Gil was preceded in death by his father, Albert Gilchrist Carter, Jr. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Rt. 7, Box 137, Jasper, TX 75951. Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper.

Dorothy McInnis
Funeral services for Dorothy Louise McInnis, 78, of Fred were held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation began at 5:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. McInnis died September 6, 2009 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Louise was a native of Newton and had been a resident of Fred since 1969. She was a housewife. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include husband Aubrey McInnis of Fred; sons A. Kenneth McInnis of Kirbyville, Roy McInnis of Fred, Roland McInnis of Silsbee, Norman McInnis of Fred and Eric McInnis of Silsbee; daughters Felicia Brumfield of Fred and Becky LeBlanc of Wildwood; brother W. H. Simmons of Flint, Texas; sister Bennie Jackson of Liberty and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were under the Direction of Farmer Funeral Home.
